Shot  Peen

Tough, Semigloss Surfaces

The shot peening post-processing is one of the many ways to enhance the aesthetics and durability of your 3D printed parts. Shot peening involves blasting the surface of a material with small spherical media, to improve primarily its surface. It does not offer a great change in overall tensile strength.

It is a great application for parts that may experience some light abrasion; while still keeping a nice smooth surface.

Scratch Resistance

Shot peening offers significant benefits, such as increased fatigue life, enhanced resistance to crack initiation and propagation. Which results in a semi glossy finish with a surface that is scratch resistant.

Accuracy

The process allows for precise control over the shot intensity and coverage, ensuring optimal results while maintaining dimensional accuracy and overall part quality. The shot peening post-processing adds value by reinforcing the material and ensuring it meets the highest standards of strength and reliability.
